Pioneers of organic farming

Further information

The family business Fattoria Poggio di Fiesole is proud to produce only organic extra virgin olive oil. Only olives from their own olive trees are used for this.

The organic cultivation methods have been used continuously for centuries, so that the soil and water are of the highest quality. They owe this extraordinary land to their ancestor, Alberto Scaravelli. Alberto is a true pioneer of organic farming. He rejected the use of chemical agents when they came to the region and was one of the first to recognize the need for natural agricultural practices to grow olives.

Nestled in the Florentine hills, between 360 and 500 meters above sea level, the microclimate offers ideal conditions for growing olives. Clean air, high altitude, favorable light, constant ventilation and pure, fertile soil allow the olive trees to thrive.

Thanks to these optimal growing conditions, the 3,300 olive trees on the farm thrive with traditional local varieties such as Leccino, Frantoio, Pendolino and Moraiolo magnificently, and after the harvest are processed into a distinctive, high-quality and nutritious extra virgin organic olive oil.

The olives are carefully checked in the mill. The cold extraction method preserves the distinctive taste of the oil and its very high quality.

Thats what our customers say

I'm really excited. The olive oil "FRUTTATO" is very tasty and a pleasure for every dish.

Petra

The fruity note of the "DELICATO" olive oil has become indispensable for me when cooking. In addition to the taste, the nature-protecting and sustainable cultivation of the olives convinced me!

I was looking for such an olive oil for a long time. The perfect addition to my vegetable pan à la ratatouille. Really great!
